JESSICA SCHUCHARDT
My name is Jessica Schuchardt— pronounced “shoo-hart”—and I am an actress, singer, and dancer from Hunterdon County, NJ. Growing up, I was lucky enough to venture into New York City with my mom to see Broadway shows and attend master classes, where I absolutely fell in love with musical theatre. Since then, that love has expanded into acting for plays, film, and television.
I trained at NYU Tisch School of the Arts in the New Studio on Broadway, where I performed in roles such as Helen (Carrie U/S) in Carrie: The Musical and Little Girl in Ragtime. During my training, I also explored Shakespeare as Tranio in The Taming of the Shrew, collaborated on a concert of new work with the Graduate Musical Theatre Writing Program, and appeared in various short films with the Tisch Film & TV Program. I not only loved the intensive training at NYU, but also its emphasis on theatre in a cultural and political context. In addition to my BFA, I earned a minor in the Business of Entertainment, Media, and Technology.
When I’m not performing, you can find me obsessing over my Pinterest boards, doing the daily NYT crossword, or showing people pictures of my nephew :)
